Even though this class is open to all participants, the curriculum is specifically designed to assist those who are nearing or are within ten years of retirement

This course is provided Online & In-person:

  • ONLINE (Wednesday Evenings)geared towards non-DMBA participants. (All online classes will be recorded and posted under the "Live Course Access" each week, available to all who are registered until the course is completed.)
     
  • IN-PERSON on BYU Campus (Thursday Evenings)designed for those with DMBA Benefits (e.g. Church employees)

NOTE: The online classes are available for all registrants. The Zoom link for the live online classes, and recordings of these classes, will be available on the Live Course Access page to all registered, for the duration of the 6-week course. If you are taking the in-person class, please register for the In-person section. You can take the online class if you miss any in-person classes. If you are taking the online class only, please register for the online section.

All participants will have access to a virtual Lab:

The purpose of this Virtual Open Lab (after week 5) with the instructors and/or Certified Financial Planners™ (by appointment) is to provide you with the opportunity to analyze your own financial preparedness for retirement, using the tools and concepts presented in the class. You will have the opportunity for one-on-one feedback from the instructors and/or Certified Financial Planners™ as they help you:

  • Estimate your Social Security retirement benefits
  • Estimate your pension or other company retirement benefits
  • Properly allocate your investments in preparation for retirement
  • Coordinate your Social Security/Pension benefits with income from your investments to optimize your future income and minimize taxes during retirement
